This workshop is designed to provide attendees with an overview of the concept of sleep health with a focus on evidence-based strategies to address difficulties clients present within clinical practice. The components of sleep health will be reviewed briefly before presenting the rationale and application of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and the Transdiagnostic Intervention for Sleep and Circadian Dysfunction (TranS-C) components such as stimulus control, sleep hygiene, relaxation and mindfulness, daytime activity, and worry management.
Kevin B. Handley, Ph.D is a Professor of Psychology, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Virginia, and an ICF Professional Certified Coach. He was named a Chancellor’s Commonwealth Professor by the Virginia Community College System for his teaching excellence. Dr. Handley is a Qualified Evaluator for the Commonwealth of Virginia and his clinical practice is focused upon the treatment of sleep and anxiety difficulties using cognitive and behavioral therapies, clinical supervision, and coaching mental health professionals.
